RIA Initiative Website Redesign
Rise to Inspire Africa Initiative (RIA Initiative) is a youth-led humanitarian organization focused on empowering vulnerable communities through health, education, protection, and advocacy programs across sub-Saharan Africa.
Their mission is powerful. Their digital presence needed to match it.
The Challenge
When I stepped in, the organization’s website had been hacked and infected with malware.
Google had flagged the site as unsafe and dangerous, which meant:
- Visitors were blocked with security warnings
- Trust was damaged
- Visibility dropped significantly
- The organization’s credibility was at risk
Â
The immediate priority wasn’t redesign. It was containment.
The site needed to be quarantined, cleaned, secured, and rebuilt — properly.
Our Approach
1. Malware Containment & Cleanup
I isolated the infected files, removed malicious scripts, and secured the hosting environment. I implemented stronger security layers to prevent reinfection and worked toward restoring the site’s reputation with search engines.
2. Full Website Rebuild
Rather than patching the old structure, I rebuilt the platform from scratch. This ensured:
- Clean codebase
- Optimized structure
- Improved performance
- Stronger backend security
3. Optimization & Structure
I redesigned the website with clarity and impact in mind:
- Clear program categorization
- Strong visual hierarchy
- Impact-focused storytelling
- Simplified navigation
- Mobile responsiveness
- SEO optimization for better discoverability
The goal was not just to restore the website — but to elevate it.
